District-Level U-19 School Sports Meet Inaugurated at Bhoranj

The District-Level Under-19 Boys’ School Sports Competition commenced on Wednesday at Government Senior Secondary School, Bhoranj. The event was inaugurated by Ram Chandra Pathania, Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Primary Agriculture and Rural Development Bank. Around 270 players from six zones are participating in volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, and badminton competitions.

Addressing the gathering, Pathania emphasized the role of sports in building discipline, confidence, and team spirit, alongside physical and mental fitness. He highlighted the state government’s initiatives under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, including modern facilities, enhanced diet money for players, and educational reforms that improved Himachal’s ranking in school education from 21st to 3rd place nationwide.

Pathania also lauded local MLA Suresh Kumar for ensuring holistic development in the Bhoranj constituency. Block Congress President Vijay Banyal also addressed the event, while Principal Anil Dogra extended gratitude to the guests and encouraged students to participate with sportsmanship and discipline.
