Two-day workshop on MSME schemes concludes in Kangra district

A two-day awareness workshop on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) schemes was held in Kangra district on September 26 and 27, 2025. The first program took place on September 26 at I.A. Sansarpur Terrace, while the second session was held in Dharamshala on September 27. The initiative aimed to disseminate information about the latest government schemes to local entrepreneurs and promote industrial development in the district.
The workshop, held at Sansarpur Terrace, was inaugurated by Mr. Om Prakash Jariyal, General Manager, District Industries Center, Kangra, as the chief guest. Dr. Ashok Pathania, recipient of the MSME Ratna Award, was present as the special guest.
In his address, the chief guest provided detailed information on various industrial incentive schemes of the central and state governments. He particularly highlighted the usefulness of the RAMP program and other MSME initiatives and stated that the government is committed to providing all possible support to entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, Dr. Salvi, a Sahil expert from Pune, delivered a lecture on the SPICE and GIFT schemes, which aim to encourage innovative startups and enterprises. Entrepreneurs from pharmaceutical units showed particular interest in this session and expressed their interest in establishing a pharma cluster under the MSE-CDP scheme.
Over 50 local entrepreneurs participated in the session, reflecting the positive response from the district’s industry.
The second session, held in Dharamshala, featured detailed discussions on RAMP, MSE-CDP, and the greening of MSMEs. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Om Prakash Jariyal, General Manager, District Industries Center, Dharamshala, and Mr. Dinesh K. Upadhyay, Manager.
Sandeep Sharma from the Industries Department, Himachal Pradesh, and Mr. Deepak Bakshi from the District Industries Center shared insights. A total of 58 participants attended the workshop and gained insights into the potential of sustainable development and cluster development. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to leverage government schemes and adopt green and innovative technologies in their businesses.
A total of over 100 entrepreneurs participated in both sessions. The workshops concluded with enthusiastic participation, constructive discussions, and a shared commitment to providing new opportunities to the industry sector through government schemes.
Om Prakash Jariyal, General Manager, District Industries Center, Kangra, expressed his gratitude to the Directorate of Industries, Shimla, and assured the Himachal Government of continued capacity-building initiatives to support local MSMEs.
