Government committed to ensure transparency: CM
The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is giving top priority to good governance. The aim is to provide timely, transparent and efficient services to the people. To achieve this the Government has started Lok Revenue Adalats to settle long-pending revenue cases closer to people’s homes.
A Government spokesperson said that these Adalats were being held regularly at Sub-Tehsil and Tehsil levels across the State. From October 2023 to August 2025, more than 4,33,242 cases have been resolved through these Adalats. These include 3,60,105 mutations, 22,592 partitions, 39,835 demarcations and 10,710 corrections in revenue records.
This initiative has given major relief to people by saving them repeated visits to government offices. A special drive was launched on 30th October 2023 and since then, Revenue Lok Adalats are being organised on the last two days of every month. For the first time, revenue cases were being resolved on mission mode, bringing visible results.
The spokesperson added that the Government is committed to deliver quality services at people’s doorsteps as part of its good governance agenda. Revenue Lok Adalats have become very popular and large numbers of people are benefitting from them. They have not only sped up the disposal of pending cases but also reduced the need for frequent office visits. The strong public response shows people’s trust in this transparent and efficient system of the government.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “Good governance is essential to address people’s concerns. He said that the government was committed to provide efficient services at their doorsteps. Several reforms have been introduced by the present state government in the Revenue Department to make processes simpler, more transparent and more convenient for the public.”
