HP Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Reaches Bengaluru for Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

Bengaluru, September 11 – Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania arrived in Bengaluru last night to participate in the 11th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference. He was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar, Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma, and three senior officers of the Secretariat.

The conference, hosted by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, is being held from September 11–13 at Vidhana Soudha and Hotel Taj West End. Pathania was accorded a traditional welcome at the Bengaluru airport by Karnataka government officials.

The grand inaugural ceremony took place today at Vidhana Soudha, led by CPA India Region Chairman and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, and several presiding officers from different states also attended.

Om Birla urged participants to share their valuable suggestions on the theme “Dialogue and Discussion in Legislative Institutions: The Foundation of Public Trust and the Medium for Fulfilling Public Aspirations” to strengthen democracy. Karnataka Speaker U.T. Khader Farid delivered the welcome address.

Kuldeep Singh Pathania will address and chair a session on September 12. He also met Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, discussing the devastation caused by heavy rains and cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar was also present during the interaction.
