1 min read

Hamirpur, Sept 7 — “Wow, this is how an office should be!” — this is the common reaction of visitors at the newly revamped Hamirpur DC Office, which has been transformed under the directions of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh has led a remarkable initiative to make the office citizen-friendly, modern, and comfortable for all.

The Mini Secretariat has undergone complete renovation and beautification, with facilities rarely seen in public offices. A spacious waiting hall has been built with seating for 50–60 people, a large LED screen, and refreshment services through the Red Cross Society canteen. The walls are adorned with paintings depicting Himachal’s folk culture and tourist attractions, created by students of the Central University, Dharamshala.

The CM Cell has been redesigned with corporate-style counters and sofas, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors. Similarly, branches like the License Section, NIC Office, and DDMA Control Room have also been modernized.

Outside, the office premises feature a rain shelter, statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, parking facilities, badminton court, children’s park, and a crèche for working mothers. An open-air gym has also been developed on previously neglected land, while the Hamir Bhawan Conference Hall has been upgraded.

Citizens like Saurabh Sharma of Galod and Sahil Verma of Kashmir village praised the administration, saying the makeover has set a new benchmark for public convenience in Himachal Pradesh.
