Shimla, Sept 4 – BJP Himachal Pradesh President Dr. Rajeev Bindal hailed the Modi Government’s new GST reforms as a “major relief package” for the poor and common citizens. He said that GST has been reduced or made zero on several essential daily-use items like wheat, flour, milk, paneer, chapati, paratha, dal, vegetables, and fruit juices, benefiting crores of people across the country.
Dr. Bindal added that around 60-70% of everyday items have either been exempted or brought under lower GST slabs, while harmful products like cigarettes and tobacco remain under the higher 40% slab. He also highlighted exemptions for clay products, silk-based products, and goods used by rural households, calling it a historic step for both consumers and traders.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the GST Council for this “people-centric decision” and congratulated the people of Himachal Pradesh on this relief measure.
