Family Narrowly Escapes as House Collapses in Solan Landslide

Solan, September 3 – A major tragedy was averted late Tuesday night in Chohra village under Gram Panchayat Jhajha, Kandaghat subdivision, when a landslide from the mountain reduced a house to rubble. Nirmala Devi, her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren managed to rush out just in time after hearing loud noises before the collapse. The house was completely destroyed, leaving the family homeless.
Atma Project Solan Chairman Surendra Thakur confirmed the incident and said the administration has been informed, with relief sought for the affected family. Villagers, along with local authorities, are helping clear debris and provide temporary support. The incident has sparked panic in the village, highlighting the rising landslide risks in hilly areas during the monsoon season.
