UHF Nauni trains District level trainers under PM FME scheme
1 min readSolan, March 9 – The Department of Food Science and Technology, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni organized two different online trainings for District Level Trainers of Solan and Sirmaur district under PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PM FME).
The coordinator of the training Dr Rakesh Sharma, Associate Professor Department of FST told that the two-day training for each district was held according to One District One Product (ODOP). The training for trainers from Solan district was held on Fruit and Vegetable Processing with Emphasis on Mushroom. Similarly, the trainers from Sirmaur were trained on ginger and garlic.
Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Abhimanyu Thakur and Dr. Satish Kumar of the Department of FST were the master trainers for the trainings. Dr. BL Attri and Dr. Swet Kamal from Directorate of Mushroom were the District Level Trainers for Solan district while Narinder Paul Kaur, Proprietor Nini Herbal, Ponta Sahib was the District level trainer for Sirmaur.
During these trainings, the district level trainers were educated about the scheme and the processing technologies, value addition of fruits and vegetables in general and specified ODOP products. Lectures on machinery, processing plant layout, food laws, food quality and safety, packaging, entrepreneurial skills etc, were also delivered by the master trainers. Practical demonstrations were also given. These district-level trainers will further impart trainings to the beneficiaries.
