Keep Strict Vigil on Law and Order During Monsoon Session – District Magistrate

District Magistrate Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, directed district administration and police officers to maintain strict vigil on law and order during the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Monsoon Session 2025. Chairing a meeting with sector officers of the district administration and police at Bachat Bhawan today, he emphasized that no disruption should occur during the proceedings.

He informed that the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Monsoon Session will be held from August 18 to September 2, 2025. To ensure smooth conduct of the session, sector officers must work in close coordination.

Assembly Area Divided into 5 Security Sectors
The District Magistrate said that the Vidhan Sabha complex and its adjoining areas have been divided into five security sectors, and officers have been appointed in each sector. These include the Vidhan Sabha complex and Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk near Cecil Hotel and Chaura Maidan, Vidhan Sabha Bifurcation–Cart Road–Kennedy Chowk to Chaura Maidan, Cart Road, and CTO.

Comprehensive Security Plan Ready – SSP
Shimla SSP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi stated that a comprehensive security plan has been prepared for the Monsoon Session. Detailed briefings have been given to all police officers to ensure that no person violates law and order during the session. He added that police will keep strict watch on both internal and external security arrangements, while coordination with CID will further strengthen security.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Divyanshu, Additional District Magistrate Protocol Jyoti Rana, Additional District Magistrate Law & Order Pankaj Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh, along with district administration and police sector officers.
