One Dead, Two Injured as Car Hit by Landslide in Sunni, Shimla

Sudden Landslide at Galu Dargi Destroys Vehicle; Victim Identified as Lekhraj from Jammu Village

Shimla, August 3:
In a tragic incident, a car (HP 21A 5022) was struck by a sudden landslide at Galu Dargi near Sunni in Shimla district around 11:00 AM on Sunday. The vehicle was traveling from Mandari to Chanavag when it got caught under debris.

The car had three occupants—Vikas (43), Nitesh Kumar (30), and Lekhraj (37), all residents of Jammu village, Chanavag. While Vikas and Nitesh sustained injuries and were rushed to Civil Hospital Dhami, Lekhraj succumbed to the impact and died on the spot.

The vehicle was severely damaged. Police have conducted the spot inquest and sent the deceased’s body for postmortem at Civil Hospital Sunni. After the procedure, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites. A case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
