₹56.26 Cr Sanctioned for Maa Chintpurni Temple Development under Swadesh Darshan 2: Union Minister

July 27, 2025 – The Union Minister of Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, informed Kangra MP Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj in Parliament that ₹56.26 crore has been approved for developing Maa Chintpurni Devi Temple under the Swadesh Darshan 2 scheme in 2024–25.

Additionally, ₹24.82 crore was sanctioned for tourism infrastructure in Kaza (Lahaul-Spiti) and ₹4.96 crore for Rakchham-Chitkul under the challenge-based destination development initiative. He also stated that ₹68.34 crore was earlier sanctioned in 2016–17 for developing the Himalayan circuit including Shimla, Manali, Kangra, Dharamshala, and Chamba.

On the issue of leakage in Dal Lake, Dharamshala, he clarified that such matters fall under the State Government’s jurisdiction.
