Repeat Offender Held with Heroin in Kangra’s Chhani Village

In a major breakthrough under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, police in Damtal, Kangra district, raided a house in Chhani village on Sunday and seized 7.06 grams of heroin. The accused, identified as Akashdeep from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was staying at his in-laws’ residence. He has been arrested on the spot. Police revealed that Akashdeep has a criminal history of drug trafficking, with previous cases registered in 2024 and 2025 involving heroin and cash seizures.
A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify other individuals linked to the drug network. The police reaffirmed their commitment to continue the crackdown on narcotics across the region.
