National Workshop on Research Methodology Concludes Successfully at HPNLU

Shimla, June 12, 2025 — Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice- Chancellor, HPNLU, through its Professional Training Cell (PTC), successfully concluded the One-Week National Workshop on Research Methodology with Hands-on Experience in SPSS and AMOS (SEM). The workshop, which spanned from June 8 to 12, 2025, aimed at advancing research capabilities among early-career scholars, academicians, and professionals engaged in interdisciplinary socio-legal studies.
The valedictory ceremony, held on the university campus, marked the culmination of this academic initiative. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Viney Kapoor Mehra, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her address, Prof. Mehra emphasized the growing importance of empirical and data-driven approaches in legal and social science research. She encouraged scholars to integrate statistical tools and methodologies into their academic work, underscoring the value of interdisciplinary skill sets in contemporary research paradigms.
Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of HPNLU, presided over the session and lauded the vision, planning, and execution of the workshop. She appreciated the Professional Training Cell for organizing a training initiative that aligns with the university’s broader mission to foster research excellence and professional development among legal scholars.
The week-long workshop brought together more than 70 participants, including postgraduate students, doctoral researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals from a wide spectrum of academic and research institutions across India. The participants engaged in rigorous academic sessions covering a range of topics related to research methodology, data analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM). The training modules provided hands-on experience with SPSS and AMOS software, enabling participants to practically apply statistical tools in real-time research scenarios.
A comprehensive summary of the workshop’s objectives, structure, and outcomes was presented by Dr. Deepika Gautam, Chairperson, Professional Training Cell. She highlighted the interactive nature of the sessions, the contributions of subject matter experts, and the enthusiastic participation of attendees. Participant feedback strongly echoed the relevance, applicability, and academic value of the workshop content. Dr. Esha Bhagra, Coordinator, PTC, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, organizing committee members, and participants for their collective effort in making the event a resounding success.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation certificates bringing a dignified close to a significant and impactful professional development programme. With its successful execution, the workshop reaffirmed HPNLU Shimla’s commitment to academic rigor, professional training, and research-driven education, further establishing the university as a hub for legal and interdisciplinary scholarly advancement.
