L.R. B.Ed. Institute Solan Observes World Environment Day with Awareness Activities

Solan, 05 June 2025 – L.R. B.Ed. Institute, Solan marked World Environment Day under the global theme “Ending Plastic Pollution” with a series of awareness lectures and activities led by B.Ed. trainees. The event emphasized the harmful effects of plastic on human health and the environment, highlighting the need for reduction, reuse, and proper management of plastic waste.

Seven teams of trainees showcased innovative projects made from discarded plastic, including a tree house, water filter, wall hanging tree, castle, plant holder, stone paintings, and LED light stands. The first prize went to Akshika’s team, followed by Rishika’s and Yash Panwar’s teams.

A mock drill on earthquake preparedness was also conducted under the Chief Minister’s Safety Programme. Principal Dr. Nisha, staff, and students participated, focusing on quick response, safe sheltering techniques, and evacuation strategies.

Dr. Nisha emphasized promoting eco-friendly lifestyles and collective responsibility in tackling plastic pollution. She encouraged the trainees to lead community awareness and participate in tree plantation drives during the monsoon.
