937 Teacher Posts to be Filled Through State Selection Commission

Shimla, 28 May 2025 – Education Minister Rohit Thakur, while attending the annual function “Zenith” at CZ Modern Senior Secondary School Rohru as Chief Guest, announced that 937 posts of TGT (Arts, Medical, and Non-Medical) will be filled soon through the State Selection Commission, with the application process already underway. He also informed that over 1800 JBT posts will be recruited shortly through the commission.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to quality education across all sections of society, he said thousands of teaching positions have been filled in the past two years. Thakur praised the role of private institutions in enhancing the state’s education standards, citing ASAR reports that place Himachal Pradesh at the forefront of education in India. He expressed confidence in a strong performance in the upcoming National Assessment Survey as well.
The Education Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of a ₹2.66 crore Sports Hostel, where training in volleyball and football will be provided. Volleyball seats have been increased from 12 to 20. He emphasized the importance of sports in student life and shared plans to introduce kabaddi and badminton training for girls in Jubbal.
Thakur expressed concern over rising drug abuse among youth, urging collective action to combat the menace. During the event, cultural performances by students, Harmony of Pines Police Band, and folk singer Kuldeep Sharma were presented. The Minister also felicitated meritorious students.
