Two-Day Historic Seepur Fair Begins in Shimla with Cultural Zeal

Shimla, 14 May 2025 — The much-awaited two-day district-level Seepur Fair, a symbol of divine faith and cultural heritage, was formally inaugurated by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Rural), Shimla, and President of the Seepur Fair Committee, Mr. Manjeet Sharma.
Extending his greetings to the local community and organizers, Mr. Sharma emphasized the significance of such fairs in preserving the region’s traditional and spiritual legacy. He highlighted the historical importance of the Seepur Fair, calling it a reflection of the rich Dev culture of the area.
The SDM also visited exhibitions set up by various government departments and self-help groups, urging residents to take advantage of the informative displays and learn about available welfare schemes.
The fair features district-level competitions in kabaddi, volleyball, and women’s tug-of-war, drawing enthusiastic participation. School students and local artists also presented vibrant cultural performances, adding festive charm to the event.
Prominent attendees included Fair Committee Convener Balak Ram Verma, BDO Mashobra Ankit Kotia, Naib Tehsildar, BDC Chairperson Chandra Kanta Verma, Mashobra Panchayat Pradhan Gayatri Thakur, Councillor Vishakha Modi, Dhalli Pradhan Rama Verma, District Language Officer Anil Harta, and other officials and dignitaries.
