Special Train Launched from Katra to Delhi to Assist Passengers Post Pahalgam Terror Attack

Ensuring Safe Travel Amid Disruptions, One-Way NH-44 Open

April 23, 2025: In the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Indian Railways has launched a special train service (No. 04612) from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi to assist stranded passengers and manage the surge in travel demand.

The train will depart Katra at 21:20 hrs on April 23, with scheduled halts at Udhampur (21:48–21:50 hrs) and Jammu Tawi (23:00–23:05 hrs). It is expected to reach New Delhi at 09:30 hrs on April 24. Tickets are being issued over the counter at Katra, Udhampur, and Jammu railway stations.

This initiative aims to offer a safe and comfortable journey amid the current travel disruptions. Authorities have also informed that the Ramban stretch of NH-44 is functional for one-way traffic, and all travelers are urged to adhere to safety protocols.
