Shimla/New Delhi, April 15, 2025:
On the occasion of the 78th Himachal Day, Member of Parliament from Hamirpur and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur celebrated the event with grandeur at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit University in Delhi. Addressing the Himachali community, he expressed pride in Himachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, reaffirming his dedication to safeguarding the interests of the hill state.
“Himachal is not just a land of beauty and gods, but a land of brave hearts,” he said, saluting the soldiers from Himachal who have laid down their lives for the nation. He emphasized that the roots of Himachal are ancient, deeply embedded in Indian scriptures and history.
Targeting the current state government, Thakur criticized its financial mismanagement, claiming it has pushed Himachal into a debt crisis. He highlighted the Centre’s continued support to the state, stating that since 2014, Himachal has received financial assistance worth ₹54,662 crore under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He also recalled the ₹1,782 crore disaster relief granted by the Centre after last year’s natural calamity.
Thakur concluded by urging everyone to preserve the state’s culture and heritage while contributing to its holistic development.
