Shimla Cyber Cell has raised concerns over increasing cyber fraud cases where WhatsApp users are being targeted with fake lottery messages. Fraudsters, mostly using numbers with the +92 country code (Pakistan), claim victims have won ₹25 lakh and demand a processing fee or GST payment. Authorities urge users to ignore such messages, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and refrain from sharing personal information.
