Delhi Chooses Modi: Jairam Thakur Hails BJP’s Victory
1 min readShimla, Feb 08 – Leader of Opposition and former Himachal CM Jairam Thakur stated that the nation trusts only Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee. Celebrating BJP’s landslide victory in Delhi, he declared that “Delhi’s heart beats for Modi.” He thanked the people of Delhi for endorsing good governance and development through their mandate.
Thakur criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of fostering chaos, corruption, and political theatrics. He claimed that AAP, which began as an anti-corruption movement, has now drowned in corruption itself. He further alleged that instead of focusing on governance, AAP prioritized building luxury residences and engaging in the liquor scam.
Taking a dig at Congress, Thakur stated that the party has reached political irrelevance, with its leaders failing even to secure their deposits. He warned that Himachal Pradesh would soon witness a similar fate for Congress, as the people have rejected deceptive politics and false promises. He urged the state government to shift its focus toward public welfare.
Thakur congratulated PM Narendra Modi, BJP President J.P. Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Delhi BJP team for their resounding success in the election.
