State-Level National Voters’ Day to Be Celebrated at Gaiety Theatre: Anupam Kashyap

Shimla, 20 January 2025 – A meeting chaired by Shimla Deputy Commissioner, Anupam Kashyap, was held today to discuss the preparations for the upcoming National Voters’ Day, to be celebrated on 25 January 2025. The state-level event will be held at the historic Gaiety Theatre, with the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, presiding over the occasion.

Kashyap informed that three newly registered young voters from the 62-Kasumpti, 63-Shimla, and 64-Shimla Rural Assembly constituencies will be honored with EPIC cards by the Chief Guest. Additionally, three BLOs (Booth Level Officers) from Shimla district, who have done outstanding work during the Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2025, will also be recognized. The event will also honor one senior citizen voter, one disabled voter, and one transgender voter from the 2024 General Elections.

During the celebration, a special skit will be performed to raise voter awareness, followed by a performance by District Election Youth Icon and popular Himachali singer, Pankaj Thakur. A photo exhibition highlighting the election process will also be organized for public education.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to coordinate for the successful execution of the event.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, Sub-Divisional Officer (Urban) Bhanu Gupta, Sub-Divisional Officer (Rural) Kavita Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma, and other officials.
