Mandi, December 9, 2024: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Sukhu-led government during a protest rally and press conference in Mandi. He accused the government of corruption, favoritism, and administrative failures.

Thakur alleged that the Chief Minister shielded mining mafias and allowed them to misuse government resources, even sharing close ties as evident from viral videos. He also criticized the alleged misuse of government helicopters for outsourcing recruitment deals.

Accusing the government of targeting Mandi for political revenge, Thakur highlighted stalled development projects and the diversion of funds. He declared BJP’s resolve to defend Sardar Patel University (SPU) from closure and promised a strong response to government actions.

Thakur also questioned the Congress government’s achievements in two years, alleging mismanagement in disaster relief, privatization of public assets, and inflation. He vowed to continue the fight for public interest from “streets to the assembly.”

Prominent BJP leaders, including Anil Sharma, Vinod Kumar, and Rakesh Jamwal, attended the rally alongside local party workers and residents.
