Himachal HC Maintains Stay on Dismissal of 900 Horticulture Project Workers

The Himachal Pradesh High Court has continued its stay on the termination of nearly 900 employees working under the Horticulture Development Project. The single bench of Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua questioned the state government on the future of these workers, many of whom have been serving for eight years. The court demanded a report from the government and scheduled the next hearing for November 25. The department claims that the employment agreement for these workers expired on October 31, yet new recruits are reportedly being hired for similar roles within the project.
