Government Shut Down ‘Jan Manch’ Due to Political Bias, Ignored Thousands of Grievances: Jairam

Shimla, October 25, 2024 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur criticized the Sukhwinder Sukhu government for discontinuing the BJP’s ‘Jan Manch’ initiative due to political bias. Thakur pointed out that, despite its planned reintroduction, this program, which took government services to people’s doorsteps across Himachal Pradesh’s challenging terrain, should have continued with a name change right when the Congress came to power. He stated that Jan Manch had resolved numerous issues on the spot, saving residents time, effort, and costs. Thakur claimed the current government lacks an effective mechanism for citizens to voice their concerns. He demanded that the Chief Minister apologize to the people for suspending the program and alleged that the government’s motivations were politically driven, prioritizing self-interest over public welfare.
