1 min read

Shimla, Aug 06, 2024 – Senior BJP leader and Naina Devi MLA, Ranadhir Sharma, addressed a press conference expressing his party’s concern over the current disaster situation in the state. He assured that BJP stands with the people and the government during this crisis, ready to offer all possible support.

Ranadhir Sharma urged the Chief Minister and the state government to expedite ongoing relief efforts. He emphasized that the government should provide all possible assistance to the affected without any delays and take proactive measures to combat the disaster.

He criticized the Congress government for failing to deliver the disaster relief package promised last year. According to Sharma, the government has not learned from past mistakes and ignored valuable suggestions during assembly discussions on disaster prevention and management. He highlighted the lack of pre-monsoon preparedness meetings and disaster management strategies as major oversights by the government.

Sharma also pointed out that the BJP is prepared to facilitate support from the central government.

He accused the Congress government of making anti-people decisions, citing the rollback of the 125 units of free electricity provided by the previous BJP government, despite the promise of 300 free units. Sharma also condemned the government’s decision to discontinue the Him Care scheme in private hospitals, calling it an injustice to the public. He argued that while addressing irregularities in the scheme is necessary, shutting it down is not a viable solution, especially for people in remote areas who rely on private hospitals for treatment.
