BJP and Jairam Thakur Antagonize Women’s Interests: Jagat Negi

Shimla: Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi has stated that the BJP and opposition leader Jairam Thakur are anti-women. The opposition is in complete disarray over the impending distribution of Rs 1500 under the Indira Gandhi Beloved Sister Sukh Samman Nidhi scheme. The formalities for implementing the scheme have been completed before the enforcement of the election code of conduct.
Negi mentioned that the budget provision has been made for the scheme, and the cabinet has approved it. The government has issued notifications for the implementation of the scheme. If women are now submitting forms, why are the BJP and Jairam Thakur opposing it? They must explain to women why they think that eligible daughters, sisters, and mothers above 18 years should not benefit from this scheme. The opposition is opposing women’s interests because the BJP’s defeat is apparent in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly by-polls, and they have resorted to opposing women.
Negi further stated that the state’s women power will give a befitting reply to this opposition, and it will deter BJP’s plans in the forthcoming elections. Former Chief Minister should not oppose women-oriented schemes. He should have supported it, but instead, he is opposing this scheme as part of political maneuvers. BJP and Jairam Thakur are opposing this scheme because it was Congress’s guarantee, which the government fulfilled in its tenure. The opposition is unable to digest the government’s welfare schemes. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukh’s extraordinary work during his tenure has completed five out of ten guarantees. This has left the BJP leaders in turmoil, as they see no chance for regime change under Sukh’s government. BJP and Jairam Thakur should reconsider opposing policies being implemented in the interest of Himachal Pradesh before doing so.
