2 min read

Shimla, December 20: The second day of the winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly saw the opposition leveling serious corruption allegations against the government concerning the closure of stone crushers. In response, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu admitted irregularities but clarified that the malpractice occurred during the previous government’s tenure, which the current administration has exposed.

During discussions with journalists, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the government took action to shut down stone crushers during a natural disaster, and irregularities were found during subsequent investigations. The crushers were operating in violation of regulations. The Chief Minister emphasized that the current government is working transparently, uncovering a corruption scandal worth INR 100 crores in the stone crusher industry.

He further asserted that the government, while adhering to regulations, had closed down the stone crushers during the disaster period. However, irregularities were discovered during inspections. The crushers were operating irregularly, flouting the rules in place. The Chief Minister accused the BJP of being more concerned about exposing wrongdoing during the disaster rather than aiding Himachal Pradesh in times of crisis.
