Lok Adalat’s settle 13,950 mutation and 527 partition cases across the state
2 min readAs many as 13,950 mutation and 527 partition cases pending in the Revenue Lok Adalats up to the Tehsil level across the state were resolved in the recently held Revenue Adalats on 1st and 2nd December.
A Government spokesperson said that the highest number of 3839 mutation cases were settled in district Kangra while 2190 pending cases each, were settled in Mandi and Shimla. In Hamirpur 1023 mutation cases were resolved.
He informed that till 30th November, there were 21,212 mutation cases pending in the state while the number of unresolved partition cases were 28,470.
As of now, there were still 7262 mutation cases and 27,943 partition cases pending to be decided.
The Revenue Lok Adalats were held after Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu took cognizance of thousands of such cases hanging fire since from last many years. Since then, a decision was taken to hold special Lok Adalats to dispose-off such cases on priority. Till date, in all the four Lok Adalats, the two organized on 30th and 31st October, 2023 and that held on last Friday and Saturday, a total of 45,055 mutation cases have been resolved. The number of pending mutation cases resolved in October were 31,105.
He said that on the directions of the Chief Minister all the pending mutation and partition cases were likely to be disposed by January 20, 2024 and monthly reports were also being sought from all the districts. Along with this, instructions have been given to submit complete information of the settled cases along with names, addresses and phone numbers to the Chief Minister’s Office, he remarked.
