Shimla: In a display of communal harmony and the spirit of service, fifty schoolboys from Bishop Cotton School in Shimla participated in the Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations at the local Gurudwara. The students not only attended the religious ceremony but actively engaged in ‘seva’ (selfless service) by assisting in various activities and extending a helping hand to the devotees.

The students’ participation underscored the school’s commitment to fostering a sense of respect and understanding for diverse cultures and religions.

As a part of their seva, some students took charge of organizing langar, the community kitchen, where they enthusiastically helped in preparing and serving meals to the attendees. The Gurudwara committee and the Sikh community in Shimla appreciated the students’ involvement and contribution to the celebration. The schoolboys not only witnessed the spiritual and cultural significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti but actively participated in spreading the message of love, harmony, and selfless service.
