Workshop on Electronic Waste Collection and Awareness Organized at IEC University

Atal Shiksha Kunj, a renowned campus of IEC University located in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, hosted a workshop as per the directives of Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) to focus on the issues of electronic waste (e-waste) collection and awareness. The program aimed to educate students on environmental protection and the proper management of electronic waste. It was organized as part of the e-waste collection and awareness campaign.
The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among students about environmental safety and the correct disposal of electronic waste, emphasizing the need for e-waste management. Several students and speakers shared their insights on this pressing issue during the program. They discussed the necessity of e-waste management and highlighted the importance of handling electronic waste properly.
Prof. Ashok Puri, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, applauded the efforts of Mr. Praveen Gupta, Chief Environmental Engineer at Baddi, and his active team for their dedication to addressing this significant environmental concern. He also stated that electronic waste is becoming a major contributor to environmental pollution today, making it crucial for society to be more aware of the substantial challenges posed by it.
Towards the end of the program, students took a moral pledge to protect society from the ongoing environmental damage caused by electronic waste, showing their commitment to this cause.
