Shimla, September 24: Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda, Himachal Pradesh, has established a Cardiac Surgery Center, which will become operational from September 25. Under this initiative, open-heart surgeries will commence in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department of Tanda Medical College. The government has granted approval for this project, allowing people to access heart surgery facilities in Tanda itself, eliminating the need to travel to Shimla.

Mr. R.S. Bali, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and MLA from Nagrota Bagwan, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, emphasizing that the initiation of open-heart surgeries at Tanda Medical College would be a significant relief for the people. Although arrangements for heart surgery were made here during the Congress government in 2017, no progress had been made over the past five years.

Thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Tanda Medical College is now set to begin cardiac surgeries from September 25, providing a much-needed facility for cardiac patients in lower Himachal Pradesh.
