Solan, September 13 – The Faculty of Legal Science at Shoolini University has undertaken an inspiring initiative to educate future legal professionals. They organized a visit for their BALLB and LLB students to the National Lok Adalat, held at the District Court Complex in Solan. This educational event was coordinated by the District Legal Services Authority and aimed to provide students with insights into alternative dispute resolution and the functioning of Lok Adalats.
During this visit, Mr. Vineet Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Legal Science, accompanied a group of students as they explored the chambers of various judicial authorities, including the Chief Judicial Magistrate, District and Sessions Judge, and Judicial Magistrates. The students also had the opportunity to observe Lok Adalat proceedings, which covered a wide range of cases, including matters related to matrimonial issues, contractual disputes, banking disagreements, and even some compoundable criminal cases.
One of the highlights of the visit was the chance for students to learn about mediation skills employed by judges and lawyers to facilitate amicable dispute resolution. The judges presiding over the Lok Adalat cases generously shared their insights on mediation, arbitration, and Lok Adalat procedures with the students. This hands-on experience provided students with practical exposure and a deeper understanding of legal processes that go beyond classroom learning.
Dr. Nandan Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Science at Shoolini University, emphasized the institution’s commitment to not only imparting legal knowledge but also nurturing empathetic and effective legal professionals who can make a positive impact on society. The visit to the National Lok Adalat was a significant step toward realizing this vision, enabling students to witness the real-world application of legal principles and alternative dispute resolution methods.
This initiative by Shoolini University underscores their dedication to providing comprehensive legal education that goes beyond textbooks and theoretical knowledge, giving students a holistic understanding of the legal field.
