1 min readThe Town and Country Planning Department, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation, will be inspecting the maps of buildings constructed in the area. If any building owner has constructed structures without following regulations and without approved maps, strict actions will be taken against them. Connections for electricity and water could also be disconnected for such violators.
Amid the natural disasters in Himachal Pradesh that led to the collapse of hundreds of buildings, the Town and Country Planning Department has adopted a stringent approach. Now, only those who have approved maps will be allowed to construct buildings. The state government believes that many people are constructing buildings without approved maps.
During construction, the focus on quality is often neglected, and advice from architects is not being sought. The Chief Secretary, T.C.P. Devash Kumar, stated that actions are being taken against those involved in unauthorized constructions. Department officials and staff have been directed to conduct on-site visits to ensure compliance.
