An awareness rally on the theme of “Conservation of Water and Water Harvesting”: An Essential Approach to Sustainable Water Management was organized by the NCC cadets of Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Himachal Pradesh, on 10th June 2023. The primary objective of this event was to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation.
The NCC cadets took the initiative to spread awareness about the significance of saving water in our daily lives. They conducted an awareness drive in Shogi and nearby places, engaging with the local community. Through their interactions, the cadets highlighted the advantages of rainwater harvesting, emphasizing its ability to improve the quality of groundwater and promote environmental sustainability.
During the awareness campaign, the NCC cadets discussed the practical uses of harvested rainwater, including toilet flushing, laundry, and cleaning. They also designed and displayed posters across the university, conveying a powerful message, “Before you get blamed by your son or daughter, harvest every drop of water.” These posters aimed to inspire individuals to take responsibility for water conservation.
The commitment of the JUIT NCC cadets towards promoting sustainable water management is highly commendable. Their efforts in spreading awareness about the importance of saving water serve as an inspiration to us all. It is crucial that we follow their lead and work together to ensure the conservation of this precious resource.
