Palampur, Apr 8 – Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar on Saturday said that a very important issue related to the social life of India, the permission of gay marriage is under consideration in the Supreme Court. A special bench has been constituted. The views on this will be heard in the Supreme Court this month.
Shanta Kumar, who is against the gay marriage said that same-sex marriage is a crime in many countries of the world, in some countries it carries a death sentence as punishment. He said that in many countries it is not a crime.
He said that the Homosexuality was earlier a crime in India.
Shanta Kumar said that it is a matter of happiness that the Government of India has not approved gay marriage.
Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh has also strongly opposed it. But many people in India want same-sex marriage to be approved. He said that the creator of this universe has created mutual attraction between man and woman. Shanta Kumar said that it was because of this attraction that male and female meet and creation takes place. If this attraction of meeting was not there, then the creation could not have taken place, he said.
He said that the wise people of human society have created the institution of marriage.
The institution of marriage was created so that inferiority of character does not increase. He asserted that the same sex union cannot be called as marriage.
Shanta Kumar said that the meeting of man and woman is a natural state, from which creation takes place. He said that since ancient times, there has been some perversion along with nature. This distortion has always been there. He said that somewhere in the society, homosexual relations between men and women remained. The society rejected it considering it as a deformity, this disorder remained a little bit everywhere, but the society never recognized this deformity.
He described it as a disease the society was suffering from. He said that the disease is treated but cannot be respected and recognized. Legal recognition of less than five percent of such allegedly sick people in India would be an insult to India’s cultural tradition. He said that unfortunately, efforts are being made to give recognition to this distortion in the name of modernity.
After the recognition of same-sex marriage, if some young boys marry boysand take out a marriage procession it will be ridiculous. He said that who will stop the gays who openly take out a procession allegedly without any shame, from getting married by taking a wedding procession. He said that in a religion and culture-dominated country like India, giving respect to this type of perversion and recognizing same-sex marriage would be a big problem. India’s entire cultural and religious sanctity will be hurt a lot.
He asked all the scholars and organizations of the country to take this issue seriously.
He requested the think tank and major organizations if the country to express their opinion before the Supreme Court.
