EVMs under tight guard, ADM checked the security arrangements of strong rooms

Dharamsala, Nov 15 – After voting for the assembly elections in the fifteen assembly constituencies in Kangra district, EVMs have been kept under strict guard in the strong rooms set up at the respective sub-divisional headquarters.
ADM Kangra Rohit Rathore was on a visit to Palampur on Tuesday to take stock of the security arrangements of the strong rooms in the sub-divisions.
There he inspected the Sullah and the security arrangements of the strong room of Palampur.
He also interacted with the soldiers engaged in security and boosted their morale and instructed them not to take any laxity in duty.
After the inspection, Rohit Rathore said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, the guard of all the strong rooms has been made an impenetrable security cordon.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal told that there is a three-tier security layer for the protection of all strong rooms in the district.
He said that the Central paramilitary forces and police personnel are deployed around the clock to guard EVMs. Apart from this, he said that 24 hours surveillance is also being done with CCTV cameras.
