Nauni University to celebrate 37th Foundation Day on Dec 1

Solan, Nov 30 – Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni will be celebrating its 37th Foundation on 1st December. Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Jai Ram Thakur will be attending the event virtually while Horticulture Minister Shri Mahender Singh, Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal and Forest Minister Shri Rakesh Pathania will attending the offline celebrations at the university.

The celebrations are being conducted in the online and offline mode at the main campus Progressive farmers, meritorious students, alumni and scientists will be will be awarded during the function. The various achievements of the university in the past year will be highlighted at the event. The proceeding will be live streamed on the official Facebook page and Youtube channel of the university.

The University was established on 1st December 1985 to promote education, research and extension education in the fields of Horticulture, Forestry and allied disciplines. Though formally established in 1985, the university has its roots in the College of Agriculture, Solan, which started functioning in 1962. Since inception, the university has had a long history of excellence in education, research and extension. The combined efforts of its scientists, staff and students have brought great laurels to Himachal Pradesh in Horticulture and Forestry.
