The Communist Party of India (Marxist) demands that people falling out of the income tax slab should be, provide Rs 7500 per month and 10 kg ration per person free of cost as a relief.
In a press statement issued here today, Sanjay Chauhan Shimla district secretary said that the government has not been able to provide any relief to the public during the last seven months. On the contrary, by increasing the rates of petrol, diesel, ration, electricity, water, school and examination fees, property tax, etc. during this crisis, the public has put more economic burden.
He said that the government should immediately withdraw the increase in electricity, water, ration, school and examination fees, property tax and other taxes and by taking concrete steps to curb the rising prices of food items in the market.
“If the government does not comply with these demands, then the party will mobilize the people against these anti-people policies and launch a movement”, said Chauhan further.
