Vikramaditya  instructs to remove wire-mesh within MC area

Public Works and Urban Development Minister, Vikramaditya Singh here today reviewed various developmental projects under construction in Shimla city in a meeting with the Municipal Corporation (MC) Shimla and Urban Development Department. Various development works under the Smart City project and pending demands of the area were discussed. He sought detailed information about various developmental projects being implemented under the Smart City project in the areas under MC Shimla and instructed the officials of various departments to complete the pending works within the stipulated time frame.

Vikramaditya Singh said that many areas under MC witnessed  mesh of wires with all types of cables on electricity poles. Taking a stern view, he said that this was affecting the beauty of the town and was always posing danger to the lives of the citizens. He instructed the electricity board officials to remove these cables immediately and submit a report within a week.

He also instructed to complete the construction of parking lots, bridges, lifts, etc. at various places around the town and repair the damaged retaining wall near the Ridge Shimla, without delay. He asked all the councilors to identify suitable places for parking construction in their wards and send proposals to the department soon, so that the parking problem in every ward of Shimla could be solved. He said that the cases pending with various departments under the Smart City project should be completed soon.

Discussions were held for the construction of a club for senior citizens and a playground for children in every ward and instructed the officials to start the work on it immediately.

The Public Works Minister said that the first drinking water scheme of Shimla Water Management Corporation, Bulk Water Supply Scheme (Suni-Shakrodi), would be started soon so that the people do not face any drinking water problem.
