Shimla, October 4
The Shyamla Educational and Social Welfare Trust, Shimla has extended its support to the state-level anti-drug campaign “Chitta Par Chot”, initiated under Sanjeevani (A Group of NGOs). The campaign aims to combat the rising menace of drug abuse among youth in Himachal Pradesh through collective action and awareness drives.

Trust President Dr. Nitin Vyas stated that the initiative seeks to unite over 5,000 organizations across the state to raise public awareness against drug addiction. In Shimla, the trust plans to engage social organizations, volunteer groups, women’s associations, religious institutions, sports clubs, elected representatives, and theatre groups to create a strong social movement.

The campaign’s first phase, running from October 6 to October 25, will include door-to-door outreach, awareness drives, and oath-taking sessions against drug use in schools and colleges.
