Parakram 2023: Celebration of Sportsmanship, Unity, and Excellence

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) recently hosted Parakram 2023 from October 6th to 8th, a spectacular sporting event that left a lasting impression on participants and spectators alike. This three-day extravaganza was a tribute to extraordinary talent, unwavering sportsmanship, and the spirit of camaraderie.

Distinguished universities, including Chitkara University (Baddi), Chitkara University (Rajpura), IIT Ropar, Bahra University, Doon Business University, IGMC, and UIET Punjab, wholeheartedly participated, with approximately 400 students representing their respective institutions.

Over the course of the next two days, Parakram 2023 witnessed thrilling semifinals and finals, showcasing the dedication and skill of the athletes. Notably, JUIT emerged as champions in Table Tennis for both boys and girls. JUIT also displayed dominance in the chess blitz round and secured titles in boys’ Badminton and boys’ Basketball. Meanwhile, Chitkara University (Rajpura) celebrated success in girls’ Basketball and boys’ Volleyball, demonstrating their mettle. IIT Ropar emerged triumphant in girls’ Volleyball, while Bahra University claimed victory in football. Chitkara University (Baddi) showcased their mastery in chess’s rapid round and girls’ badminton. UIET proudly claimed the cricket trophy, demonstrating their cricketing prowess.

The closing ceremony, held at the JUIT Auditorium, was graced by the esteemed presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Registrar Maj. Gen Rakesh Bassi, JYC Faculty Coordinator Dr. Naveen Jaglan, HODs from various departments, and several faculty members. The felicitation of Dr. K.K. Aggarwal added an extra layer of honor and appreciation, culminating in a fitting conclusion to this unforgettable sporting spectacle.

Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the athletes, underscoring the pivotal role of sports in college life. The success of this event was made possible by the collective effort and dedication of various faculty and student coordinators of the Sports Club, the invaluable guidance of mentors and coaches, and the tireless commitment of the JYC team and its members.
