Shimla, March 26 – BJP State General Secretary and protest convener Bihari Lal Sharma announced that a massive protest will be held at Chhota Maidan, Shimla, on March 27, with the participation of 10,000 party workers from across the state.

Senior BJP leaders, including State In-charge Shrikant Sharma, Co-Incharge Sanjay Tandon, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, and BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, will be present. Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, former State President Suresh Kashyap, Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will also attend.

Sharma stated that this protest is against the mafia rule flourishing under government protection in Himachal Pradesh. He alleged that various mafias, including transfer, scrap, liquor, drugs, contractors, forest, mining, and land mafias, have taken control of the state, leading to rampant corruption at all levels.

He also highlighted the controversy surrounding the 32 MW solar plant in Pekhubela, Una, questioning irregularities in project funding and execution. He linked the mysterious death of HPPCL Chief Engineer Vimal Negi to the project, alleging financial mismanagement benefiting a private firm from Ahmedabad.

The gathering for the protest is scheduled for 10:30 AM, and BJP leaders have inspected the venue to finalize arrangements.
