Clash between two groups of youths at Kangra, two injured

Kangra, Dec 29 – Tension gripped the College Road area of Kàngra temple town on Thursday when there was a clash between two groups of Youths over some issue.

According to the reports there was an altercation between two groups of Youths which resulted in a clash leaving two persons injured. The two groups had earlier too indulged in a war of words but today it was a physical altercation.
The clash took place on the famous college road adjacent to Kangra Municipal ground, a private college and two private schools.
Following beating and attack two persons were injured including a MCM DAV College student who was rushed to hospital and was given medical aid.
The injured youth alleged that he was attacked with hockey and sharp edged weapons by a student of MCM DAV College and a group of outsiders.
The police was informed by the local shopkeepers about the clash on phone however police reached the spot after half an hour despite the fact the police station is at the stones throw distance from the site of the clash.
Police has registered two cases following two cross FIRs registered by both the groups and the investigation was in progress, police told UNI.
Local people alleged that the law and order situation was deterorating in the town with police a mute spectator to the situation. They said that thousands of students use college road daily which include girl students but there is not a single police personnel deputed in the area to keep an eye on the antisocial elements.
To avoid such incidents the deployment of the police in area seems to be essential and unavoidable.
