THDC Empowers Uttarakhand’s Youth Through State LevelEnergy Conservation Painting Competition

In a grand showcase of commitment to energy conservation, THDC India Limited orchestrated the State Level Painting Competition-2023, captivating the creative spirit of Uttarakhand’s school students. Hosted at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh, this event, conducted under the auspices of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, reinforces THDC’s central role as the Nodal Agency for Uttarakhand in the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, the dynamic Chairman and Managing Director of THDC, highlighted the seamless collaboration between THDC, the Ministry of Power, BEE, the State Government, and other stakeholders that led to the resounding success of the campaign.
A staggering 1,69,787 students from 283 schools across Uttarakhand participated enthusiastically, surpassing the previous year’s count of 1,50,388 students. Sh. Shallinder Singh, THDC’s Director (Personnel), graced the award ceremony as the Chief Guest, presenting substantial cash prizes to the winners.
The first prize of Rs. 50,000/- in both Group A (Class 5th, 6th, and 7th) and Group B (Class 8th, 9th, and 10th) went to Miss. Shatakshi Vatsh and Sh. Ronit Raj, respectively. The vibrant artworks showcased themes like “One Earth, Many Efforts” and “LiFE – Mindful and Deliberate Utilization, Instead of Mindless and Destructive Consumption,” underlining the urgency of responsible energy practices.
Sh. Shallinder Singh emphasized the pivotal role of children in championing energy conservation principles, declaring that the first three winners from each group would participate in the National Level Painting Competition in New Delhi. He proudly shared last year’s success, where a participant from Uttarakhand clinched the First Prize in the prestigious National Level Painting Competition.
This event not only celebrated artistic expression but also echoed a powerful message about the indispensable role of the youth in shaping a sustainable future through conscientious energy consumption. THDC continues to illuminate the path toward a brighter and energy-efficient tomorrow.
