Youth and Women’s Participation Vital for Strengthening Rural Economy: MLA Sanjay Awasthi

MLA from Arki, Sanjay Awasthi emphasized that the Himachal Pradesh government is focusing on strengthening the rural economy through active participation of youth and women. He was addressing the public at the ‘Vidhayak Aapke Dwar’ programme held at Pakoti (Banjan) in Gram Panchayat Sanghoi of Arki constituency, Solan district.
The MLA offered prayers at the Maa Kamaksha Temple, praying for prosperity, health, and happiness for all. He inaugurated the newly constructed building of Government High School, Pakoti, built at a cost of ₹90 lakh, and laid the foundation stone for a playground at the school. He also inaugurated a newly constructed community hall in the Maa Kamaksha temple complex at Banjan village.
Awasthi highlighted that boosting rural economy is key to strengthening the overall economy of the state. To achieve this, the government is focusing on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and promoting employment and self-employment. He said the state aims to bring one lakh new farmers under natural farming and has raised milk support prices significantly. The Shiva Project is also being aligned with the climatic conditions of the region for fruitful results.
He announced that a digital library worth ₹18 lakh will soon be established in the Government High School, Pakoti, providing students easy access to top-quality books. He also instructed officials to improve electricity infrastructure by repairing and upgrading transformers.
He further announced ₹3 lakh for the school playground, ₹2 lakh for the community hall in the temple complex, ₹21,000 each to the Mahila Mandal and Yuvak Mandal of Banjan, ₹1 lakh for pathway construction in Pakoti village, and ₹1,100 for school children’s cultural activities.
