1 min read

Kullu, July 01:

Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh is under a yellow alert for the next five days due to continuous heavy rainfall, especially in Ani and Banjar sub-divisions. Rivers are in spate, and the risk of landslides has prompted the administration to shut all educational institutions as a safety measure. Deputy Commissioner Toral S. Ravish has advised residents to stay away from riverbanks and avoid trekking.

Several roads remain blocked: 21 in Ani, 11 in Banjar, and 5 in Kullu Division. The Ani–Rampur route is completely shut, and the Mandi-Kullu highway is partially obstructed. Landslides on NH-305 between Banjar and Balichowki have further worsened the situation. Restoration work is underway on priority.
