Writers & Environmentalists Urge 9-Point Green Action Plan in Himachal

Shimla, Sept 21 – At a poetry session and dialogue held at Gaiety Theatre, the Himalaya Sahitya Sanskriti Evam Paryavaran Manch launched the slogan “Harit Himachal, Swasth Himachal” and presented a 9-point restriction letter to the state government, Governor, and High Court. The recommendations include a ban on plastic, deforestation, multi-storey buildings, four-laning, mining, and dumping waste on mountains, along with promoting solar energy and mandatory tree plantation schemes. Renowned author S.R. Harnot stressed that unchecked development and human greed are fueling natural disasters, urging the government to prioritize environmental protection.
