World Pharmaceutical Sciences day celebrated at Shoolini Univ

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University celebrated the World Pharmacists day as a dedicated occasion to recognise and honour pharmacists.
The theme of World Pharmacist Day for this year is “Pharmacy Strengthening Health Systems.” This day is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the indispensable contributions of pharmacists in the realm of medical supplements and healthcare professionals.
Prof Deepak Kapoor, Dean Pharmaceutical Sciences, welcomed chief guest Prof. Bhupender Singh Bhoop, Ex Chairman UIPS, Panjab University, Chandigarh and presently serving as Emeritus Professor of Chitkara University Innovation and Research Network (CURIN), and Chief Mentor of Chitkara College of Pharmacy, guest of honour Prof. V.K Kapoor, Ex Chairman UIPS, Panjab University, Chandigarh and presently is Professor Emeritus at Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology, Baddi HP and  faculty members and all the participants. Pharmacist oath-taking ceremony was also conducted.
Emphasising the role of pharmacists, Chancellor Prof PK  Khosla said they were an intrinsic part of the healthcare team, especially in the present scenario. He asked them to focus more on research for the welfare of human beings.
Prof. Bhupender Singh Bhoop gave a talk on “Role of pharmacist in health systems, Angdaan Mahadaan” He talked about ancient pharmacies, discovery of drugs.
Prof. V.K Kapoor’s lecture was on the theme, “Integrated role of Ayurveda in health systems” He explained that Ayurveda is “science of life,” because ancient Indian system of health care focused on views of man and his illness.
On the occasion declamation and poster making competitions were also organised, Pratik from Semester 3rd won the first prize and Paritosh from M Pharm IInd year won the second prize in Declamation. In poster making competition there is tie between Parul, Raja and Vishaka, Swali and Tanishka bagged first prize, Muskaan Mahi and Avinash won the second prize.  The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof Rohit Goyal, Associate Dean School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He congratulated all the winners and appreciated their efforts and thanked all students and faculty members for making the event a great success.
