Workshop on GeM Portal, Business Planning and Financial Management Held

Una, Jan 28, 2026: A special training workshop focusing on the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal, business planning and financial management was organised on Wednesday at the Service Building in the Industrial Area, Mehatpur. The programme was conducted by the Industries Department of Himachal Pradesh through NABARD Consultancy Services with the aim of empowering entrepreneurs, startups and micro and small businesses.
Deputy Project Coordinator under RAMP, Meenakshi Thakur, delivered a detailed session on business planning and financial management, while GeM expert Puneet Bakhshi guided participants on the use of the government e-procurement platform. Officials and staff of the District Industries Centre Una were also present.
Participants were trained on GeM portal registration, tendering process, product listing, payment system and government procurement procedures. Sessions on business planning covered goal setting, market analysis, strategy development and risk management. Financial management topics included budgeting, cash flow management, cost control, profit and loss analysis and investment planning.
Around 43 entrepreneurs, startup founders and business representatives from various sectors took part in the workshop. Participants described the training as highly useful and informative. Organisers said the objective was to connect local youth and entrepreneurs with digital business opportunities and strengthen financial capabilities, with more such programmes planned in the future.
