Workshop for Legal Guardians of Differently-Abled Persons to Be Organized: DC Shimla
1 min readShimla, November 22, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, announced a special workshop for legal guardians of differently-abled persons under the National Trust Act, 1999. The workshop will focus on welfare schemes, practical challenges, and memory enhancement techniques, with experts from health, psychiatry, and NGOs participating.
The meeting also approved legal guardianship for seven new cases, bringing the district total to 134. Kashyap emphasized strict monitoring to safeguard the rights of differently-abled persons.
Current Statistics and New Approvals
So far, 134 individuals in Shimla district have been granted legal guardianship, including 42 from Shimla Urban, 11 from Shimla Rural, and others from regions like Sunni, Theog, and Rohru. Seven new cases were approved during the meeting, including one each from Kumarasain, Sunni, and Chopal, and two each from Shimla Rural and Rohru.
The meeting was attended by District Welfare Officer Keval Ram, Dr. Anil Chauhan, Dr. Lekh Ram Sharma, and other officials.
